As I prepare for Manaslu, I take a timeout to talk with Matt, a mountaineering guide and psychologist, about the here and now, how I am using the lessons life has taught as I prepare for my first 8 000 m climb.

Matt Walker believes that the moment you choose to step out of your comfort zone you realize the story and narrative in your head is what is holding you back from living the life you want. When your actions and values are in alignment, is what Matt considers full engagement living. It is the state of high performance where vision and dreams shift into reality – into the here and now.

In this podcast, Matt and I talk about the here and now, how I am using the lessons life has taught as I prepare to climb Manaslu, the world’s 8th highest mountain standing 8 163 m above sea level.

Our conversation, recorded between Washington State and Kathmandhu, Nepal will continue from Manaslu Base Camp as Matt will join another expedition team to embark upon the “mountain of the spirit”.

I am intrigued to learn what comes up for you as you listen in on my chat with Matt. With hope the casual conversation brightens your smile and you pass that light out into the world.

Gratitude, love, and light,

jill
